With the this Governments plight and the severe future financial burdens we will have to deal with, it is not plausible or rational that new nuclear power staions will be built as they will be uneconomic and non viable without subsidy.

It dismays me that the lessons in the Finnish model of station which our government approves of are being ignored. If the 8 year construction period is made real they could end up forcing it into an impossible timeframe. To succeed at that would probably mean allowing gross violations of safety and health regulations (light touch in the banking world) which could give us our own Chernobyl incident if allowed.
