We feel very sad for the people of Japan who want to end nuclear energy whilst a potential new government and big business are desperate for it

Hergen Haye attends BANNG Community Meeting

Dear all,

Last night we had the BANNG-organised Public Meeting at West Mersea at which Hergen Haye, Head of New Nuclear Development spoke (along with Andy). We had over 70 there, which was amazing as the weather and roads were not good. A Press Release will follow shortly.

Hergen made much of the 'host of local meetings' and rather gave the impression DECC had organised these. When taken to task for leaving it to BANNG to take the iniative and organise the meeting, Hergen said it was a wonderful example of community spirit and shouldn't be diminished!

If you are having a local meeting with DECC would you mind letting me know:

- was it your group or DECC that took the iniative and organised the meeting?

- if your group, how did you come to organise the meeting e.g. did you approach DECC as a result of knowing about the

BANNG-organised meeting?

I look forward to hearing from you.

All the best,

Varrie

Hi Varrie our meeting was SANEs initiative but now South Gloucestershire Council have jumped on the bandwagon!

It will be interesting to see who turns up from DECC on 16/12!

Reg
