Hitachi- from the country that brought the world Fukushima
We feel very sad for the people of Japan who want to end nuclear energy whilst a potential new government and big business are desperate for it

No Fukushima at Oldbury

No to Fukushima at Shepperdine!

Tim Proudler and the Train Station

A reliable source who attended the recent Horizon drop in meeting at the Oldbury Memorial Hall tells us of a really nice story going back many years into Tim's youth.

Tim is the Planning and Consents Manager for Horizon Nuclear Power's second choice development site at Shepperdine in Gloucestershire, England.

When Tim was younger a rail company proposed that they would like to build a new railway station close to where his family lived. A public meeting was held with lots of people attending, apparently there was significant opposition to the potential development and Tim decided to speak....."Don't you think we should hear whats in it for the community before any decisions are made".

Fair play, this lovely anecdote, metaphor is certainly what Horizon Nuclear and its managers would like us all to think......but some of us care more for the earth than out pockets!

Leave the WIIFM to the greedy people!.... Every penny that any community initiative is given is coming out of energy consumers pockets and the profits from these vast corporations go back to Germany

When anybody accepts money from E.on, RWE or Horizon by way of a donation think of the fuel poor in the inner cities and the old aged pensioners who will die of cold in the UK this Winter.

We urge our community to be strong ,to have a conscience and resist the temptation that will undoubtedly come our way!

  1. Funny that.... I attended Horizon's exhibition last year and Mr Proudler told me a similar story only that time it was a road they were building near his house not a railway station! Just shows they say anything to persuade us to support their ridculous scheme!

  3. I think Tim is a nice bloke and he is being pushed by his position in the business to try and defend something he doesn't believe in.

  5. Thanks for the discussion on this matter.

It is true that Tim is doing a job.

I agree he is a bloke with what appears to be integrity.

I have met him and some of the Horizon junior staff many times. I am sure he is as authentic as somebody in his role can be.
