We feel very sad for the people of Japan who want to end nuclear energy whilst a potential new government and big business are desperate for it

No Fukushima at Oldbury

SANE Press Release About Horizons Sponsorship of The Oldbury Fun Run Time Clock

We suggest that the organisers of the Oldbury Fun Run consider carefully the supply of the timing rig from Horizon. Surely there is another source of funding?

What is even more astounding is that a charity that helps children with cancer and leukaemia is prepared to accept money from a nuclear power company.

I suggest that CLIC look into some of the research into childhood cancer and leukaemia in Germany in what is known as the KiKK study. It confirms the significant increase in these issues close to every German nuclear power station.

This is the major reason that new nuclear power stations are not being built in Germany and why Horizons parents Eon and RWE have chosen the UK for its progeny!

A considerable number of people are seriously affected by the proposals ,and the blight we are experiencing is to be prolonged by Eon/RWEs decision to consider Shepperdine as second best to Wylfa for development.

At least EDF are proposing to build both Hinckley and Sizewell at the same time and are fully committed to nuclear and the considerable investment required.

Rest assured ,SANE will be meeting with DECC to discuss compensation for our communities for the additional blight that we are experiencing and will to continue to experience for at least 15 years.

Dear Nicholas,

A number of us are sad and upset that you have accepted sponsorship from what many in our community consider to be "a massive cuckoo in the nest".

I appreciate that we need to raise as much money for CLIC as possible but do we not have other options?

Our community is being blighted by the proposed development---and now we find out that it is to be delayed by 3 years at least.

We would like to confirm that Shepperdine Against Nuclear Energy and its community would like to rent a stall for the day.

I will be writing an article about this matter for our blog and website which will be in the form of a press release

The edf comment relative to the eon/rwe comment is meant to be tongue in cheek----in case people think SANE is pro edf!
