Dear all,
just quick a few information from the German ongoing protest against the Castor shipment. I am part in it and just took a few hours to leave the x 1000 sitting blockade to our camp in Gedelitz for some internet work and mobile charging. On Sunday morning 1000 people organized in affinity groups and prepared to use the so called five finger tactic (a way to get smoothly with a huge ammount of people through police chains) started from the camp in Gedelitz through the forest to move to the street where the castor has to pass finally to arrive the storage hall.
Nearly no police was waiting for us, so by now 2000 people are on the street and sleeped there with temperature down to 2 degrees celcius (we are lucky because no rain since Sunday). This location is just between the village Gorleben and the "final" nuclear waste storage place (2 km)in the direction of the village Gedelitz.
The reason why there is not a lot of police is that the castor is still on the tracks between Lüneburg and Dannenberg about 40 km away.
There another actions are taking place: The "Schottern"- action meanas that thousands of people tried to get onto the tracks to remove the little stones between to make it impossible for the castor to go on (yesterday 150 meter of tracks were damaged and have to be fixed and through the night more damage went on). A bit further on the tracks 5000 people followed the call from "Widersetzen" to sit on the tracks by blockading the castor with their bodies.
The police lost control over the situation because also the farmers came with their tractors to support them. So the castor had to stopp since than. This morning the police holds 1000 people from Widersetzen in custody next to the tracks, and the castor moves slowly forward. Most people from Widersetzen promised that when the sitting blockade at the tracks will be over that they will come to our street blockade from x1000 (so a lot of shuttle servcice is going on right now).
In Dannenbetrg the castor will be lifted from the train onto the trucks to be transported further on the street for about 26 km (this lifting will take at least 8 hours and wiull give a lot of people the possibility to reorganize. Only to streets will be the option for the trucks and the last kilometers these streets come togteher, so there will be only one option left and that is where we are sitting and waiting

and spread the news and important: last saturday we were 50 000 people at the protest here in this calm region having 500 busses from all over germany coming. What a gresat chaos!!!
