Hitachi- from the country that brought the world Fukushima
We feel very sad for the people of Japan who want to end nuclear energy whilst a potential new government and big business are desperate for it

No Fukushima at Oldbury

Monies raised by SANE for Charities

Through donations at our recent lectures we have raised a total of  £227

At the lecture by Professor Stephen Thomas, entitled Nuclear Power: A Cheap Option which informed us about the need for very large subsidies to Horizon to encourage them to build new nuclear power stations, we raised a total of £72 for Chernobyl Childrens Lifeline which helps children who are still affected by radiation .

At the second lecture by Dr Ian Fairlie, who spoke about the KiKK study from Germany and Susan D'Arcy author of Still Fighting for Gemma who spoke of the death of her daughter from leukaemia, we raised a total of £92 for CLIC Sargent and £63 for The Oldbury Memorial Hall.

Thank you for all your help!

It shows how caring our community is to local and international concerns.

I am sure we will have a number of meetings in 2010 when we will have the opportunity to raise more money to help charity.
