Early Day Motion about Nuclear Costs and Safety


NUCLEAR COSTS AND SAFETY

That this House calls upon the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change to suspend all steps he has taken to facilitate a new build nuclear power programme and permission for the lifetime extension of some existing operational nuclear power plants until a full, independent evaluation has been conducted on the long-term implications for the safety and cost of nuclear power in the wake of the nuclear accidents in Japan.
